Meet Brandy
Award-winning author. Journalist. Editor. Mil-spouse. Mama. Gigi. Southerner. Fur-Mom. ADHDer. Wannabe health enthusiast. Christmas decorating guru. True romantic.
Brandy has been an avid reader since she picked up her first book (The Pokey Little Puppy) at age four and a writer since age six when she got her first typewriter. She always read well beyond her years, and while some may frown on the fact that she read The Bermuda Triangle, Helter Skelter, and VC Andrews’ My Sweet Audrina before even reaching her preteen years, Brandy believes her long days of reading an eclectic variety of genres on her own Southern porch are what solidified her dream to become an author.
The road wasn’t straightforward. Everyone told her that creative writing majors would starve, so she picked a more prudent route entering Clemson University and went for a degree in English and Journalism. A handful of years out of college, though, while spending her days in a blue jail cell… er, cubicle… she knew she’d made a dreadful error.
That’s when she “retired” from the corporate world, began freelancing for magazines and small publishing houses, and eventually followed the dream that still lingered in her heart.
Around here, the only thing deeper than the Southern accents are the emotions you’ll feel with every turn of a page. And hoo-boy, is there going to be some family drama, angst, and yearning to boot.
Brandy Woods Snow writes Southern stories steeped in emotion, layered with love, and anchored in the kinds of truths that hit hard. Born and raised in Upstate South Carolina, her work is deeply rooted in Southern landscapes, layered relationships, and emotional epiphanies that linger. With a background in corporate communications and twenty-four years as a journalist, Brandy brings a sharp eye for detail and a deep understanding of human complexity to her fiction, writing stories that break your heart then put it back together again. When she’s not writing, you can find her chatting with just about anyone (much to her husband’s chagrin, er… amusement), spending time with her family, cheering on Clemson sports (Go Tigers!), waiting on her husband to get back from whatever Army trip he’s currently on, snuggling her cat, Juno, or taking a Jeep ride down a back road with the top off and the music up.
